Ooh good question! When I watch films I try not to think about the science because it annoys me! One thing that my friends and I sometimes do is try to justify in Star Wars when Han Solo says that the Millenium Falcon did the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs. Now a parsec is actually a unit that we do to measure distances in space, not time so the best explanation that we came up with was that the Kessel run was an obstacle course with multiple route so you could go a short route that’s less than 12 parsecs or a long route that’s more! Although I think George Lucas just didn’t bother doing his homework.

I think my favourite science based film at the moment is Moon. I don’t want to spoil it for you though in case people reading this haven’t seen it but I think they used models instead of CGI to do the lunar surface and things like that made it look really good. Plus there’s some great science in it.
