I study at The University of Manchester. The university is to the south of the city centre and all the astronomers are based on the third floor of a building that we share with the Maths department. I have a desk in an office that I share with 3 other students – there were 5 of us but one left to go work in Taiwan for a year!

The Jodrell Bank Observatory in Cheshire is part of my astronomy department so sometimes I escape there to do some work if I want peace and quiet! Jodrell Bank is home to the Lovell telescope which is a massive radio telescope. It’s really inspiring to be able to do work and see the telescope out of your window! This link goes to a photo that I took a couple of months ago when I was working at Jodrell Bank http://twitpic.com/4q2rw2
