I’ve always been involved in research – which means I’ve been doing pretty much the same kind of job – but I suppose I’ve been involved in different aspects of it and in different places.
Sometimes I’ve been asked to write articles about scence that are not to do with the lab as such (for example, I was asked to write an article on the use of patents in science), or to comment on a news item of science or health to the rado, TV or newspapers. And I’ve also spoken to MPs at the House of Commons about funding for science research. SO, not different jobs as such but different aspects around about a similar type of job.
Well I worked as a summer student a few years ago at the Jodrell Bank Observatory but I’m still doing the research I did then so I don’t know if that counts. I’m only 24 so I’ve not really had time to do lots of different jobs yet.
I’ve never actually had a “proper job” as I’m still a student but part of my degree did involve working in a medical research institute for a year. There I was looking for mutations in patients genes to see if they had or were likely to get the disease NF1 – it can cause tumours.
