I got an A* in physics and an A in biology and chemistry in triple science GCSE. It’s very difficult to work very hard when you’re this age because of all the other stuff going on in life – but make sure you try!

I didn’t do GSCEs as I was at school in Scotland where we did slightly different exams but …. at the same level I did maths, physics and chemistry along with other stuff like French and English.

I did double science and got two A*s. If you want the rest of my results I think I got A* in Geography, French and RE, A in Maths, English, Music and B in IT and Resistant Materials. I did pretty well in my GCSEs – partly motivated by the desire to beat my older sister!

It’s important to do the best you can in your GCSEs but don’t be put off if you don’t do as well as you hoped. I know a few people who didn’t do that well in their GCSEs but stuck it out at A levels, got a physics degree and are now working as full time scientists or doing PhDs!

All my GCSEs were B or above and I managed to get an A in double science, so I didn’t do too badly in the end. Like the others have said it’s all about putting in the hard work in now so that you can do what ever you want when you leave school.
