It is a very good and professional question maughan97. There are some technologies that can be used when dealing with the emissions from a coal power station. We can gasify the coal which means to convert coal into gas (mainly methane) and burn the gas instead of coal. The combustion products of methane are CO2 and water in form of steam. By condensing steam we can separate them and extract CO2 and capture it. Gasification of coal accures is a high pressure chamber with the presence of oxygen and steam.
