I’m a STEM Ambassador so I already go into schools and tell them about my work. One of the most exciting things I’ve done was that I went to my Mum’s old school in India when we went there on holiday earlier this year and talked to a group of school pupils about my work and space. It was really cool because I don’t think any of them had met an astronomer before and they had loads of questions to ask.

If I won, I would use the money to make sure I could come to each of the schools in this zone and talk to you guys in person about my work 😀

Yes. In my uni we run an Outreach programme that will mean me going to local schools to encourage participation in teaching, learning and research. And if I’m lucky enough to win, I’d make a movie about out work in the lab and visit schools with lab colleagues to describe all about science and how we got to do the things we do.

I’d love to go to schools and tell them about my work and invite them to the uni. If I won, I allocate some part of money for such visits 😉

Funnily enough I was just talking about this, you see I live with some teachers and they have asked me to go into their schools and talk a bit about my work and some of the really weird and wonderful plants that exist. So if I was fortunate enough to win then the money would be spent on equipment so the students could look at plants growing and make time lapse videos.
