Hi Becky, not really – I was born in the UK and have lived here all my life although both my parents were born and grew up in India. I am technically part of the Sohklet clan of the Khasi tribe that live in north-east India (in the foothills of the Himalayas) but I can’t really claim that I properly belong to them because I’ve only visited north-east India a few times! Even if I was properly part of the tribe, I don’t think it would affect my work – my Khasi relatives have all kinds of jobs including medical doctors, nuclear scientists, bankers and farmers! 🙂
