A lot of my work is done on a weed called Arabidopsis (Arab-a-dop-sis), it is like the mouse of the plant world as a lot of people study it because of how easily it grows (like most weeds) and we know a lot about its genes. In Arabidopsis I’m most interested in the pods (similar to pea pods) which contain the seeds and study the role of the pod in seed growth. I also do a bit of work on crops as well, so at the moment I’m studying oil seed rape and just about to grow some kale, again this is to look at the pods.
