Which black hole are you talking about?? If you mean the supermassive black holes in the centres of galaxies then no we can’t stop them and we probably wouldn’t want to even if we could! We think that the central black holes are very strongly linked to their galaxies – for example there is a very strong correlation between the mass of the black hole and the mass of the bulge of a galaxy. We think that the active stage in a galaxies life is very important for its evolution so we wouldn’t want to stop it! Is that what you meant?
